RE: Cheese topped grilled tomatoes

Something else you may want to try is adding sliced tomatoes and cheese on top of garlic bread before grilling or baking it. All I can say is yummmmmmm!

RE: Cleaning a Weber Q

I have cleaned my Weber with oven cleaner and it worked great. I usually do a thorough cleaning like this at the beginning of grilling season. I have recently noticed cans of "grill cleaner" in the grocery store which I believe are just relabeled oven cleaner.

RE: Full Truck Bed Drawer Slide Out

The slide beds are nice but they add a lot of weight to the back of your truck. I used to work for our local Emergency Medical Service and we had the slides in the back of our quick response trucks. In another truck we used a canopy that also had doors on the sides allowing access either from the rear or either side. By having access from the sides the entire bed was accessible. Maybe your canopy could have doors added to the sides.

RE: Wide Steps?

I have seen extensions that bolt onto the front of each step but they were only in the 1"-1 1/2" range. It seems that these extensions had step lighting built into the as well. I doubt that you will be able to find 3" extensions that will still allow the steps to fold properly. Good luck.

RE: Back up camera for TT?

I opted for a portable unit that has magnetic mounts for the camera and the monitor is hand held. I am usually traveling alone so this is a good combination for me because I can place the camera on the back of my TV to hook up or move it to the back of the TT to back into a campsite or whatever need I may have. I bought the unit off E-Bay, here is a link for the set up I have: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts-Accessories___Swift-Hitch-Portable-Wireless-Camera-Snow-Plow-Police_W0QQitemZ300233065322QQddnZPartsQ20Q26Q20AccessoriesQQddiZ2811QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item300233065322&

RE: Is there a trick to removing plastic hub covers

Mine have a single screw on one of the edges that has to be removed then it tilts from the screw side to disengage some fingers from the opposite side of the cover.

RE: Skylight cover blows off-twice!

Since it happened twice on the same vent I would wonder if there isn't something not attaching correctly allowing the cover to fly off again.

If nothing else this topic has given me some ideas about possible places to keep a spare set of keys for when I lock myself out.

RE: Remodeling help

You may also have some luck with an RV salvage yard, they may have a unit that is of a newer vintage that has been wrecked or damaged in some other way that they have removed the pieces you want.

RE: Removing dinning booth

Something else to look at before attempting this mod is what is in the dinette seating? Some units have wheel wells, gas lines, power cords, etc. routed through the dinette seating areas. In my unit there is a propane line that goes to the outside BBQ under the inside of one of my benches.

RE: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos

I bought a pair of those so I could put one on the vent/fan in my bathroom. I have big hands and have trouble grasping the know that is in the corner to open the vent so I bought these to extend the knob below the trim, no more problems with my big hands in a small space.

RE: How to clean holding tank gauges

I personally haven't tried it but others have said to put 5 gallons or so of water in the tank and add a couple of bags of ice, then take the rig out for a trip down some windy roads so that the water has a chance to slosh around the inside of the tank. Between the water and the ice it is supposed to clean the probes. You may also try using one of the flushing things that goes down the toilet and try to direct the spray towards the sensors (you should be able to ID thier location by the wiring coming out of the tank) and maybe that will dislodge whatever is causing the false readings. Good luck.

RE: Which one would you choose....and Hello from a Newbie

It sounds to me like the weight isn't properly distributed but you can't judge how it is going to pull until you have it loaded like you were going on a trip. The full water tank (if its partially filled the water sloshing around can also contribute to what you describe) would throw the "balance" off since no other gear is in the TT.

RE: Small "lite" TT questions

You may be able to find something you like in one of the expandables. These are kind of a cross between a traditional TT and a hybrid where the bed (which is usually in the rear) slides out like a hybrid but it has hard sides like a traditional slideout. Some models may have beds on each end. I do know that Rockwood makes an expandable unit but I am not sure on the specs.

RE: Getting rid of Fabric Odors?

If the smell is coming from the couch and dinette cushions maybe you could steam clean them and that would help. I wouldn't think that a good cleaning of them would hurt anyway.

I really like mine so far, I just got it about a month ago though so I haven't really had much time to find faults.
